Dovetail box - 2 Day Course

Take the next step on your woodworking journey and learn to cut dovetail joints while making a simple keepsake box made from oak or ash. This course is designed to give a more in depth look at more refined woodworking - it is an ideal follow up to my 1 or 2 day beginners courses.

You will learn to saw and prepare timber, ready to cut dovetail joinery for your box by hand and creating snug fitting lids. You will get to use a variety of hand tools to layout, prepare and make your box as well as refining your skills to produce well made and uniquely designed boxes.

Refine your sawing, chiselling and planing skills and tackle the most prestigious of woodworking joinery techniques from our small workshop in the heart of Weardale in County Durham, a stunning remote part of the country with dramatic landscapes and varied wildlife in abundance.
