Carving for Beginners

1 day crash course in hand carving gives you all you need to get started with caving for woodworkers. Learn to cave lettering and simple shapes in wood while developing an understanding of grain direction and how this affects your carving as well as when to use different chisels to tackle your carving project. 
 
All tools and materials are provided for your course so you don’t need to bring any tools with you. By the end of the day, you will have tried carving both lettering and simple shapes.
 
Carving is a skill that can be a challenge especially if you are looking to carve into something that you have spent time making or something that is precious to you. It can be daunting getting started with woodcarving, from getting to grips with what tools you need, to choosing the right timber for you project.
